STX Capital LLC is a team with expertise in the trading, structuring, risk management, modeling, & asset valuation of residential mortgages and ABS securities. In 2006, the team was responsible for purchasing $6 billion of whole loans, and securitizing 9 structured transactions. The team's principals are former managing members of Emax Financial Group LLC, and have worked together for a number of years with a combined 50 years experience in the mortgage industry. Emax was a specialized mortgage conduit based in the US Virgin Islands.

The team has experience in trading assets in adverse situations. The principals were key participants in the RTC liquidations of the 1990s, purchasing approximately $6bn in assets. Most recently, the principals have acted as consultants on the recent liquidations of nonprime mortgages, and have provided expert testimony, as well as audit work on private placements. Additionally, the principals have traded close to $1 billion in scratch and dent nonprime assets in 2007, and have acted as agents on acquiring distressed ABS and servicing platforms.
